Making sure everything gets packed properly. It can be quite time consuming, and often it feels like there isn’t enough time to get everything done by moving day. By starting your packing early and being organized, however, you can greatly simplify your packing and can take the time to make sure it’s done the right way.
How to pack
Before you start packing anything, clear out all the old and unwanted stuff in the house. You should try to sell or get rid of these items so you can focus on what you actually need to take with you to your new home. Try to set yourself enough time to do a small amount every day, and make sure you start this as early as possible, at least a month or two in advance of moving day, to make sure you have the time to get everything done at a reasonable pace.
Use strong boxes and containers that can be secured tightly.
Purchase special boxes for dishes, wardrobe and other special items.
Pack audio-video equipment in their original boxes. Label cables and tighten transit screws. If removing screws, tape them to the objects they are removed from.
Avoid loading more than 50 pounds into one box.
Don't forget to change
